It's complicated

Life is complicated.
Yesterday I was thinking about this and suddenly realized that life is not complicated by itself, but mainly because of relationships’.
Let’s take for instance Pinocchio.
Pinocchio was a very simple guy. He had a big issue. It’s very hard to get dates when your nose start growing anytime you lie.
So, during the 1^st phase as everyone knows it is difficult to keep always true.
-I am very interested by be your friend! - Says Pinocchio.
Pouf the noses get slightly big.
-No of course not! I am only interested in getting to know you better!

-Yes I only want to go out with you, as friends.

After 15 minutes on the 1^st date, poor Pinocchio had to place his face sideways.
-Oh my nose! Yes I am allergic to pollen! This time of year just kills me.

After a dozen 1^st dates Pinocchio had come to terms that maybe he was going to die virgin. But as he was a simple person he never cease to believe that sooner or later he would find the one person to whom he could be true and therefore at least pass to the 2^nd date and maybe at least to 1^st base.
One day when he has on a single’s bar he met the one guy. He had a very bad 1^st date and was playing billiard with his nose. The other guy found that a potential good way to win some bets playing for money and invited Pinocchio to play with him with 2 out of town suckers which were a bit drunk. In the beginning they were not to keen, but the Pinocchio with that big nose and a simpleton look smelled an easy buck so they went along.
Of course Pinocchio’s team won and a beautiful friendship was born.
-My name is Big Bad Wolf. – The other guy told Pinocchio- My Fiends call me Wolfie, my Girlfriends Biggie. You can call me Bad Wolf.
-So why you are alone, in this single’s bar full of lovely ladies? – He asked.
Pinocchio told him is story. Bad Wolf listens to him very carefully and in the end he told Pinocchio:
-That is the saddest story I ever heard! So does not mean that you even got to 1^st base until today?
Pinocchio sadly nodded.
-You know which is your mistake? – Asked Bad Wolf- Your mistake is that you do not tell then the truth.
- Me on the other end I always tell then the truth! – He continued.
-When they ask “Why do you have that Big Eyes?” I just say “It’s for better see you”!
-When they ask “Why do you have that big mouth?” I just say "It’s for better eat you”. And so on…
Pinocchio just found that a revelation, and as he walked home with his new friend he thought about it over and over.
-How simple it is!-he thought-The only thing I need to do is just tell the truth.
The next day, he woke up and decided to use his new approach.
He had for some time had his set in one of his neighbors, Cinderella. Cinderella was a very beautiful girl. Her blond hair, big blue eyes and a lean figure, had filled some of his nights, whilst he was playing with his nose after a disastrous date.
So next morning, he went to Cinderella’s house and knocked. Cinderella did not live alone. She had 3 other sisters. They were very ugly, mainly because they had poor taste in dressing up, and they use way too much make-up. They also went to same hair dresser since ages. However the main reason why they were ugly was that they never had a date and therefore their personality could be used in batteries as acid.
-Good Morning- said Pinocchio- Is Cinderella home?
-No! She went to the fish shop! – Said one of the ugly sisters- What do you want with her?
At first, Pinocchio though of saying something like “I come for a cup of sugar! Mine seems to have run out!” But then he realizes he was a new man so he just said:
-I want to invite her to the Prince’s ball.
The ugly sister thought of just slam the door but then she look at him and said:
-Aren’t you Pinocchio?
- Yes I am! - He replied.
-Come in and wait for her at the living room! I am going to call my sisters and will join you in a moment!
Pinocchio was taken to the living room and left there. The ugly sister went to call the other 2.
-Sisters, I have down there that stupid guy who can not lie because his nose grows. Come with me and let’s see how big he can get.
The 3 sisters went down to the living room but just as they were about to get in, someone knocked at the door.
All 3 stopped and looked at each other.
-Don’t you dare to go in without me? –Said one of the sisters as she went to open the door.
As she opened the door she realized her mistake. Outside dressed in black and holding a basket full of apples, was the Bad Witch.
The Bad witch was bad news. She used to be a Good Witch. She used to have a thing with the Fairy Good Mother but one day, they had a very nasty fight about a pumpkin. The witch had strong feelings about that pumpkin and every night she spend some time with it, caressing and calling it “ My little pumpkin!” . That night the Fairy God Mother in a jealousy attack just hit the pumpkin and it felled hard on the floor and cracked open. The fight was bad and in the end the witch expelled the Fairy from their condo.
Without a place to stay, with only the clothes she had on, the Fairy had to call the Prince for help.
The prince took the fairy good mother to the palace and the talked and talked. As the night was chilled the Prince took out a blanket and the just sit together under it and talked and talked. As the blanket was a good one, the temperature rouse and they had to take some clothes in order to not get sick with some draft. Palaces are very draft and everyone knows you can catch pneumonia very easy.
This was what the prince told his Wife the Cat Woman when she caught then both with no clothes under the blanket in the next morning. Although The Prince wasn’t like Pinocchio, The Cat Woman found that hard to believe and in the end she thrown both out of the Palace.
Heart Broken by the lost of the little Pumpkin and the Fairy God Mother in the same night, the Good Witch become the Bad Witch and started to work for The Poison Apple Company. She becomes a Sales Representative of that company selling Door to door. As she was a powerful witch, she climbed fast on the organization as no one in their perfect mind would say “No” to her. In fact, the Poison Apple Company could not keep up the supply of apples, as the Bad Witch sales volume grew higher and higher everyday.
So as the Ugly sister opened the door she knew she and her sisters were in trouble. Unsure of what to do, she invite her in to the living room and they all joined Pinocchio.
The Bad Witch started to so the selling pitch.
-My Name is Bad Witch and I represent the Poison Apple Company. My company drive is to provide the best Poison Apple’s that are available in the market at a fair price.
She continues for a couple more minutes and then she looks at Pinocchio and asked:
-So what do you think of my apples? Are they not excellent? They look yummy don’t they?
The 3 ugly sisters look at each other and look horrified as Pinocchio open his mouth. But then one of sister’s jump off and just kissed Pinocchio in the mouth, silencing his words.
-Yes they look marvelous, said another of the sisters.
The Bad Witch looked at the couple kissing and another piece of her heart broke as she remembered what she had lost.
Eventually the kiss ended. When Pinocchio had catches is breath he asked one of the sisters:
-Can you please go to the bar and ask Big Bad Wolf to come here. I believe he would like to have some of these apples.
The nose grew a bit. Feeling that, he kissed again the sister.
The second sister went up and went to the bar to get Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf was with Cat woman at the bar. After hearing what the sister told then, the 3 of then returned to the house.
As they went into the living room, they saw the Bad witch trying to put one of the apples on the mouth of the 3^rd sister, mainly because sister 1 and Pinocchio were still kissing and therefore its has hard to put an apple there.
Bad Wolf and Cat woman seized the Witch’s hand.
-DO you see these teeth Witch? DO you know what they are for?
The bad Witch looks at Bad Wolf teeth and Cat woman Claws and realized she was beaten.
-No warm intended. Just wanted to show how tasty the apples are. - She said.
-I do not think anyone here wants your apples today! You should better leave.
The Bad witch looked around, picked up her basket and went off.
Pinocchio went up and hugged bad Wolf.
-Oh thank you! Thank you!
-Nothing to thank me! –Said the wolf-I just don’t like door to door salespersons.
-Oh no, no!-replied Pinocchio-Not thanking you about that. I am almost at 1^st base. I just told the truth as you told me…
-Oh, OK!-said Bad wolf.
Pinocchio sat again and continued to kiss the 1^st ugly sister, which at that point was not ugly anymore.
Bad wolf looked to the 2^nd sister.
-Clean up your make up. And Loose up your hair.
-Why? - She asked.
-Because I want you and you will look much prettier that way.
She looked at Bad Wolf and after a couple minutes she did what he told her. At this point Bad Wolf picks her up on her arms and kissed her.
Cat Woman looked around and found the 3^rd sister, still slumped on the couch.
-Those clothes are dreadful. I know a lovely shop that has great dresses. Want to come?
The 3rd sister nodded and both went out. Later on they bought besides the dresses a new excellent blanket under which they both talked and talked.
So you see. Life is not complicated. Pinocchio just wanted someone to whom he could be truthful. Cat Woman only wanted to talk under the blanket, the 1^st sister someone who desired her, the 2^nd sister someone who cared about her, the 3^rd sister someone who would protect her and Bad Wolf… well that one only had one thing on his mind.
Life again is not complicated. What makes it complicated is all the troubles we make ourselves sustain in order to get what we really want.
